Merzouga is a small town on the outskirts of Erg Chebbi, in the Sahara Desert. Merzouga is barely 20 kilometers from the Algerian border, where the paved road ends and the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert begin. Camel treks and desert camping are most popular in the Merzouga desert in Morocco.

To truly appreciate the Sahara desert sands, enjoy a camel ride and spend the night in a Berber tent or a luxury camp. The camel ride takes around an hour over magnificent red-orange sand dunes at dusk to reach the Sahara desert camp, where you will be given a delicious and filling dinner and entertained by the staff around a blazing fire with a musical performance. However, the Erg Chebbi dunes are at least a ten-hour trip from Marrakech. The trip can be completed in three days, but we recommend taking it slowly over four or five days.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
DAY 1 : MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE - VALLEY OF ROSES – DADES VALLEY
Departure From Marrakech, travel across Morocco's High Atlas (2260m), then continue on to Ait Ben Haddou. Kasr Ait Ben Hadou is a one-hour walking tour that will introduce you to the village's culture and beautiful landscapes. The location of Ait-Ben-Haddou is the most famous ksar in the Ounila Valley, located in the foothills on the southern slopes of the High Atlas in the Province of Ouarzazate. The Ksar of At-Ben-Haddou is a stunning example of Moroccan architecture from the south.The ksar is primarily a communal collection of houses. Houses, some humble, others like little urban castles with their towering angle towers and upper portions adorned with clay brick designs, huddle together inside the defensive walls, which are reinforced by angle towers and penetrated by a baffle gate, but there are also structures and community places. It is also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After you've discovered it, you'll have lunch there. After lunch, we continue our journey by traversing Ouarzazate and arriving in Dades Valley, where you will spend a fantastic night.
Day 2 :
DAY 2 : DADES VALLEY – TODGHA GORGE – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA ERG CHEBBI
After a full night's sleep, you will be treated to a delicious breakfast while taking in the fresh air of the village's natural surroundings. We will then continue our journey to Merzouga by traversing the Boumalne Dades and viewing the ravine Todgha (300 m high) at "Tinghir." The Todgha gorges are a natural wonder. The Todra Gorge, located on the east side of Morocco's High Atlas Mountains, is regarded as one of the world's most stunning gorges. Lunch on the road, stopping by an old irrigation system.Then continue on to Merzouga, where you will be riding camels to your desert camp, watching the sun set and spending a memorable night in the desert. The desert is a great spot for daring camel treks and camping beneath the glittering starry skies.
Day 3 :
DAY 3 : MERZOUGA – TAZZARINE – NKOB – AGDZ – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
Early in the morning, witness the sunrise while riding camels, then return to the hotel for breakfast before returning to Marrakech via the Draa valley. On your own personal comfort transportation. with photo stops along the way and a picnic lunch on the side of the road
